The Cape Coral Police Department are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who they accuse of stealing 28 cans of baby formula from the Publix on Santa Barbara Boulevard.

The suspect, who CCPD says is a black male in his 50’s, concealed the formula under a red and purple flowered dress he was wearing as he rode around the store in a motorized cart. He was also wearing a blue bonnet.

Sergeant Allan Kolak told Fox 4 that despite wearing a baby bonnet, “The amount that he took would most likely not be for any personal use.”

Kolak added, “It could be that he’s doing a resale through Amazon or Ebay, or maybe even a flea market.”

Theft of baby formula has been on the rise nationwide. Some area Walmarts have put the formula behind locked cabinet just as they do for video games. Late in 2017, Samantha Beausoliel was arrested for stealing baby formula from the Publix in Gateway.

If you can help identify the suspect, please call the Cape Coral Police Department at 239-574-3223. Or if you prefer, you can call Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
