With Hurricane Irma just days away, and nearly all storm models predicting Fort Myers will get a direct hit, the Gateway Services CDD has its staff out in the community shutting off water to homes for unpaid bills.

Obviously, many people will quickly pay their bills, which will then divert the district’s resources further as staff must make the effort to turn the water back on.

Some others may not be able to pay their bill at the moment, and will be left without water potentially for days or weeks at a crucial time.

I really don’t know what the hell is the matter with these people.

I just … Look I would love to write more, but I need to make my own hurricane preparations. I just wanted to put this out there for the record.

(And no, my own water did not get turned off.)
