Florida Food Runner, a restaurant delivery service launched in Gateway two years ago, and the Boulevard Deli have announced a new lunch offer for people who work in the commercial areas of the Gateway community.

From 11am to 3pm on weekdays you can now get a 6” sub from the Deli, a soft drink or bottle of water and a bag of Miss Vickie’s BBQ, jalapeno or salt & vinegar chips all for just $8.25.

Even better? Your lunch combo will be delivered for free by Food Runner.

Two things in the interest of full disclosure:

First … Florida Food Runner and the Gateway Sun are owned by the same company. Our readership has at least doubled since the last time we wrote about FFR in June 2015, so while many of you already knew about the connection some others may just be learning about it.

And second, obviously nothing is ever truly free. Credit goes to the Boulevard Deli for helping to offset the delivery cost on these lunch combos.

The long-term goal, of course, is to introduce Florida Food Runner and our restaurant partners to as many people who work in Gateway as possible. Maybe today they want a sub combo, but next week they’ll want to try a Bobby Burger or Silverlakes pizza from the Deli, or some Pad Thai from Rock’n Sushi. Or maybe some quesadillas from Casa Lupita.

It also provides a solution when someone just wants a smaller, quicker meal and doesn’t want to spend a lot on lunch that day.

Please keep in mind that this lunch offer is only available in the business areas of Gateway, and that free delivery is only on this lunch combo – although you can have multiple combos delivered at the same time. A $2.99 delivery charge applies to all other regular menu deliveries in Gateway, including from the Boulevard Deli.

We will also deliver lunch combos for free to Gateway Elementary on Griffin Drive… and, I suppose, to the GSCDD office on Griffin as well. (They have literally never ordered anything through us. I personally can’t think of any reason why they wouldn’t.)

To order your combo, please visit GatewayLunch.com from your smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.

You can use your existing Food Runner account or simply create a new account.

And if you don’t feel like having a sandwich today, and you want some wings, sushi, or tacos delivered, visit FloridaFoodRunner.com.

In keeping with our custom of proper attribution at all times, this story was first reported by LifeInGateway.com.

And yes, it does seem odd that we would be scooped on matters relating to our own company.

Well played, LifeInGateway… Well played…
