The Gateway Golf & Country Club will be seeking a new Director of Membership Marketing, but they won’t be hiring anybody until September.

Justin Bannister, who held that position, apparently resigned with last Friday being his final day on the job.

The GG&CC has seen its membership levels shrink drastically in recent years. The club was operated by WCI until 2001 until the members decided they could do a better job running it themselves, and took over.

One source who understands how golf clubs operate in Florida said that although summer is slow in terms of recruiting new members, it was strange that they would allow the Director of Membership Marketing position to sit empty for any period of time.

The Gateway Golf & Country Club has confirmed Bannister’s departure.

The club is once again offering a “Summer Preview Membership” in both its golf and social categories. For more information visit
