If you’ve lived in Gateway for more than a few months you probably already know about some of the businesses in the area such as the Boulevard Tavern, Zervos’ Salon, Gartner, and Alta Resources.

But you might be surprised who else has office space in Gateway.

For instance, did you know that Red Bull has its distribution center in Gateway for the Fort Myers market? Or that both DirecTV and Comcast have offices on Westlinks Drive?

Comcast actually has two offices: one that’s a customer service center on Corporate Lakes Drive and the office on Westlinks where their technicians operate from.

Walgreens, Home Depot, Cintas and Lee Memorial Health Network are also large organizations with staff in Gateway providing administrative support.

Staples, Zephyr Hills, SONY and ADP are here too.

Along with the Tavern, there are three other restaurants in Gateway including Rock’n Sushi, Casa Lupita and a brand new Subway restaurant.

We have our own luxury spa in town called JavaSpa, and in addition to Zervos’ Salon we also have Michelina’s and the Gateway Mini Spa to take care of your health and beauty needs.

If you ever buy a laptop from Sam’s Club and call for technical support, there’s a good chance you’ll be talking to someone in Gateway – because Sam’s Club outsources their support to a company named Alorica who have a facility on Corporate Lakes Drive.

Plenty of smaller companies have set up shop here too.

A few interesting ones include Survival Body Armor who sell tactical gear, a Visiting Angels franchise that provides home help services, and of course the Fort Myers Brewery – an award winning craft brewer.

Baseball players from all over Fort Myers head to the indoor batting cages in Gateway at Extra Innings, located at the corner of Westlinks and Commerce Lakes Drive.

There’s another baseball place here, too. What’s it called again? It’s right next to Gateway Charter Elementary School. Oh, that’s right: jetBlue Park, the official spring training facility for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball.

jetBlue is also one of the home fields utilized by the Florida Knights youth soccer organization.

We have two other Gateway-based youth sports programs, too. Gateway Flag Football and the Gateway Soccer Association – both of whom are signing up players for their fall programs by the way!

It’s difficult to estimate how many people work in Gateway, but it’s got to be in the thousands. We haven’t even mentioned (until right now) some of the larger facilities such as Data2Logistics and NeoGenomics.

There are dozens, maybe even a hundred, businesses that have offices in Gateway that most people have no idea are here.

Some of the businesses are large, some are small. But it just goes to prove there’s a lot more going on in Gateway than most people realize.
