A nice sized crowd gathered to celebrate the official grand opening of the new Dunkin’ Donuts at the Sky Walk Plaza this morning.

Along with Dunkin’ Donuts staff and plenty of customers, the reception was attended by Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass (pictured with the large scissors), members of the Lee County Port Authority Fire & Rescue squad, and the several officers from the Port Authority Police – including K-9 officer Beyer.

Radio station B101.9 was on hand giving providing music entertainment and giving away t-shirts, while the new Dunkin’ was giving away free coffee and Red Sox bobblehead dolls.

Dunkin’ Donuts had its soft launch a little over a week ago and their arrival has been met with great fanfare on social media. While Dunkin’ has a huge number of fans who love their coffee and would travel down Daniels Parkway to go get it, having a premium coffee shop right in our backyard has been a huge time saver for thousands of people.

Along with coffee and donuts, Dunkin’ also has a nice offering of sandwiches and other breakfast foods. And if you’re in a hurry, they do offer drive-thru service.

If you haven’t been there yet, make your way over to Sky Walk and check them out this weekend!

I’m actually going to head back over there as soon as I publish this and get a Sweet Black Pepper Bacon sandwich and a Blue Rasperry Coolata for lunch.

See you there!
