If you were thinking about opening a store at the new-built Sky Walk Plaza you’d better move quickly.

By our count, just two smaller units remain before the entire property is leased out.

As you’re probably aware by now, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Hair Cuttery, Fashion Fresh dry cleaners and Nail Lounge are already open.

We don’t have an update in regards to China Fusion, however the long-awaited Dunkin’ Donuts is in the early phases of its build-out, with the concrete floor being poured in the unit today (pictured above).

The All-State agency looks like it’s complete but to be honest I don’t know if they’re open yet or not.

And there are two new previously unannounced tenants we can tell you about!

Hot Gyros and More, a Greek take-out restaurant, will be going beside the Dunkin’ Donuts… and SOS Chiropractic will be opening soon too.  I believe SOS is located beside the Hair Cuttery, or at least close to it.

As for the Publix store – while not exactly a scientific study, I have made it a point to pay attention to the amount of people I see at the store since it opened, and the number of shoppers is definitely on the rise. (For reference, I would estimate I go to the Gateway Publix 3 or 4 times per week.)

Having the Sky Walk plaza so close is awesome. I ate at a Moe’s restaurant for the first time in my life, and I really liked it and the service was great.

I also tried the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and while I can certainly compliment the food, the service was a little slow that day. But it actually worked out well because also waiting for his order was the world-famous Rob Spicker. So I got to catch up with him, and we discussed the new high school and some other things.

The new Publix is fantastic and I’m thrilled the company opened a store for this community. I do still use the Publix at Crossroads from time to time, mostly when I need to go to the bank or ATM. But I much prefer the Gateway Publix.

All in all, the Sky Walk launch has been successful and a great addition to the community. We thank Publix, the developers and all the new business owners who have added more options for Gateway residents!
