Two previously announced construction projects have officially commenced, with the first step of clearing the land of trees and bushes now underway.

If you travel south down Gateway Boulevard to the Daniels Parkway intersection, and go straight at the light, within a minute you’ll see construction crews clearing a large swath of land on Paul J. Doherty Parkway. That’s where the new $13 million Gartner facility is going to be constructed.

Meanwhile, at the southern corner of Fairway Lakes Drive and Gateway Boulevard, you’ll notice crews have cleared that piece of land as well. That’s where the tentatively-named Skinny Dogz restaurant will be when all is said and done.

According to permit filings, it’s possible that the new Skinny Dogz building will also have some office space that could be available for rent.

In other construction news, it appears as though the new restaurant which will be operated by Sal Basile at the corner of Corporate Lakes Drive and Gateway Boulevard will be named The Saucy Meatball.

And lastly, the Creative World daycare center looks to be well on its way to completion.

Not much to add here.

I guess the only new thing would be that I’ve heard a rumor – and I stress it’s a rumor – that the Skinny Dogz restaurant (if that’s the name they end up keeping) might be looking at focusing on breakfast service.

Probably not news by now, but over at the Sky Walk Plaza the Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been open for a few weeks and the new Moe’s Southwest Grill looks like it’s close to being ready, too.

Gateway’s restaurant options are at an all-time high!
