The annual Gateway Fishing Challenge will take place on Saturday, September 9, weather permitting of course, from 7:00am to 10:30am at the pond beside the Gateway Commons Pool.

Although the event is clearly for fun, there will be trophies awarded for the largest fish, the smallest fish and for having caught the most number of fish. The age categories are 6 years old and under, 7 to 10, and 11 to 15.

The cost for entry is $7 for your first child and $5 for each additional child.

Only 100 children will be permitted to participate, so if you’re interested you’ll want to register ASAP. You will also need to sign a photo release form.

According to LifeInGateway.com, Pelican’s Snoballs will be at the event so you can buy a … snow cone or whatever they sell.
