For one night only, a 1930s New York-style cabaret will be in Gateway at the Gateway Golf & Country Club.

The gala event is a fundraiser for the Gulf Coast Symphony and will feature a show called “Puttin’ on the Ritz” starring Broadway performers Larry Alexander and Carolann Sanita.

According to a piece in the News-Press Alexander and Sanita will sing the songs of Irving Berlin, including “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “Always”, and “Puttin’ on the Ritz”.

The event takes place February 4 at 6pm at the GG&CC located at 11360 Championship Drive inside the Gateway Greens community.

Tickets are $150 per person and include an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a gourmet dinner, the show, live and silent auctions as well as a prize raffle.

Alexander played the role of Marius in Les Miserables on Broadway, while Sanita – among her many credits – played Maria in West Side Story during European and Asian tours. In February 2016 the pair performed together at TheatreZone in Naples, FL starring in “The Boy from Oz”.

The Gulf Coast Symphony just kicked off its “20 Days of Music” event which feature 20 separate musical performances and activities all over Southwest Florida – and all free.

In a press release, the symphony’s Executive Director Andrew Kurtz stated: “The core vision of the Gulf Coast Symphony is bringing our community together through music. And the ’20 Days of Music’ celebration is our way of giving back to the community and working with our partners to share our love of music.”
