The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two people suspected of breaking in to a car on Lake Run Drive in the Gateway Greens community.

The victim told police she woke up and had a voicemail message from American Express warning her that someone tried to use her card at the Lehigh Express gas station on SR-82. Fortunately, the transactions were declined.

After hearing the message the victim immediately proceeded to inspect her vehicle, only to discover it had been burglarized.

“Upon going to her car, she discovered that someone had broken into her vehicle, stealing her credit cards, purse, cash and personal identification, as well as a laptop computer,” the LCSO said, according to the News-Press.

If you know one or both of the people in the picture accompanying this article, please Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

Last time someone was featured in the media breaking in to vehicles in Gateway, they were identified and caught by the next day. Let’s hope for the same outcome this time.
